One of the most iconic classic whiskey cocktails. In this video I make the Sazerac 2 ways and I will tell you a little bit about the story behind it and why you something see it made with cognac and sometimes with rye whiskey in bars. I also explain why recipes can vary quite a bit (that actually goes for most cocktails). The Sazerac 3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters 1/4 oz (7.5ml) Simple Syrup 2 oz (60ml) Cognac OR Rye Whiskey Absinthe Chill a small rocks glass or a Nick and Nora (like I'm using) and stir all of the ingredients except absinthe in a mixing glass until diluted and chilled to your liking. Coat the inside of your chilled glassware with absinthe and pour your cocktail in. Express a lemon peel and discard.
