The effect of suppression on your aim

I've always wondered what exactly does suppression do beyond blurring your vision for a few seconds. Well, according to the test here, it also adds sway to your aim, but not so severe as to interfere significantly with close range fire fights. However, if you are sniping from quite a range it would seriously ruin your fun. Obviously I can not test if suppression increases random bullet deviation.
