Tyrannical Police State USA - Random Checkpoints in Virginia

These have been appearing around town in random locations the past few months, and this is the second time I've come across them outside my neighborhood. I came across this particular checkpoint after I rode my bicycle up to the store around the corner the night of Tuesday, August 19, 2008, and decided on my way home to come back out and videotape this display of tyranny. It turns out these checkpoints require you to pull up, provide state-issued identification, vehicle registration, insurance, and undergo a 'safety-check'. Any failures to meet the State's criteria results in your being ordered to wait on the side of the road and cited. There were about a half-dozen police cars, lights flashing, that conducted this checkpoint for a duration of several hours. It consisted of two tiers in which vehicles and their occupants must pass through. I was able to film about 90-120 minutes of cars lining up and being stopped for their inspections by the officers, if for no other reason than to let them know that they themselves are being watched. I have condensed the pertinent footage into this shorter video. At about the 1:10-1:13 mark, you can see a police car pull up and the officers talking in the background, instructing him to confront me. I believe he says something to the effect of 'stop this guy videotaping' or 'ask this guy why he's videotaping'. At that point, the police car drives up to the adjacent neighborhood, turns in, and parks on an adjacent street from the checkpoint, preparing to confront me. Hampton is a predominately black city, and all but one of the officers were white. Subsequently, one may begin to make racial accusations considering that most of the people I witnessed being detained on the side of the road were black; yet, I insist that slavery does indeed exist today, but is no longer based on race -- everybody is a slave to the State, and any agent thereof is your overseer. The men on this video are amateurs, and this is simply a precursor to a much wider event.
