Old LFE Traffic Light & ICC LED Countdown Retrofit (Balboa Ave & Terry Bennett Drwy)

These traffic signals used to be owned by Caltrans from the 1970's until 2001 when this road was originally Highway 274, but then as traffic became heavier and more businesses were building, Highway 274 turned into Balboa Ave and the city of San Diego took over in 2001 and owned the signals. You can still see it has that very old school look and design that Caltrans used to have back then. The pedestrian signal head is very old and used to nave a neon worded dont walk/walk signal, and of course as you can imagine, the signal lights were all incandescent. The yellow light is still the un-touched light because it's still incandescent with a very old yellow lens. Also if you look closely, you see another even more classic looking signal to the right of this one.
