03 October Monsoon Update: Skymet Weather

http://www.skymetweather.com/ Satellite Image: Today, dense monsoon clouds can be seen at south Chhattisgarh, entire Orissa, north Andhra coast, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and south Gujarat. Rest of the country will have mainly cloudy to partly cloudy skies all day. Wind -- Cool and moist easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal will induce clouds in Delhi and NCR, giving patchy moderate rain. These moisture laden winds will also affect West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh. The cyclonic circulation in Gujarat will persist for couple of days whereas the circulation over northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining east Uttar Pradesh will continue to give moderate rain. Peninsular India will receive warm and dry northwesterly winds. Rainfall -- Heavy rain is a possibility in one or two pockets over east Uttar Pradesh and northeast Madhya Pradesh, whereas, moderate rain will continue for the next 48 to 72hours at south Gujarat, southeast Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Gangetic West Bengal. Weather in Delhi will be mainly dry once again as the thundershowers will continue only for 24hrs. Rain will be light to scattered in northeast and south India. Isotherm -- North, East and Northeast India: Temperatures will start rising gradually in north India as rain intensity is expected to increase after 24hours. Maximums in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana will now start rising by 1 to 3 degrees. Weather in the hills of Uttarakhand will be cool and cloudy. Day temperatures of east and northeast India have dropped considerably due to continuous rain and are currently between 29 to 32 degrees. Temperatures will remain below normal for this entire week. Minimums of north and northwest will be cool and comfy, between 23 to 25 degrees and between 22 to 24 degrees in east and northeast India. Central India: As rain continues, day temperatures in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Vidharbha and Chhattisgarh will continue to remain below normal i.e. in the range of 30 to 32 degrees. Skies will be mostly cloudy to overcast at times. Minimums on the other hand will be cool and breezy, hovering around 23 to 24 degrees. Minimums may drop marginally after 48hrs. Peninsular India: Scanty rain in peninsular India will raise the mercury levels in most parts. Maximums in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will settle between 31 to 35 degrees. As rainfall continues to be scanty, temperatures may continue to rise, though only marginally and gradually. Madurai will be the hottest in India, touching 39 degrees. Maximums in Karnataka will be near normal. Minimums won't go beyond 25 degrees; nights will therefore be comfortable and breezy in entire peninsular India.
