🦊 In this GCSE Biology video, we explain that protein synthesis is the process of forming proteins, which are composed of amino acids and serve various functions such as enzymes, structural components in cells, carrier molecules, and hormones. Protein synthesis occurs on ribosomes, which are located in the cytoplasm and use a DNA template to accurately assemble amino acids into proteins. This template is carried from the DNA in the nucleus to the ribosomes by mRNA, and the correct amino acids are brought to the ribosomes by carrier molecules known as tRNA.
