Today, heavy rain poured down at Imjin Bridge in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, strong enough to trigger a flood warning. However, the monsoon rains are expected to subside from tonight until dawn tomorrow. Rain will resume starting tomorrow morning, mainly in the central region. Looking at the rainfall forecasts for tomorrow, over 80 mm is expected in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and Chungcheong provinces; up to 60 mm in Jeonbuk; and between 5 and 40 mm in the southern region. Above all, the risk of landslides is increasing due to the continuous rain. With the ground already weakened and the rain continuing, the landslide risk warning in Gyeongbuk has been upgraded from the "Caution" level to the "Alert" level. On the other hand, sweltering heat persists day and night in Jeju and the southern regions, which are untouched by the rain clouds. In particular, Jeju has already been experiencing tropical nights for two consecutive weeks. The perceived temperature will rise to around 33 degrees Celsius during the day, and with heat wave warnings issued for Jeonju, Changwon, and Daegu, the highest perceived temperature is expected to soar to around 35 degrees. Looking at regional temperatures, Cheongju is expected to reach 25 degrees tomorrow morning, while daytime temperatures are forecast to be 30 degrees in Seoul and Suwon, and 33 degrees in Gangneung. In the southern regions, temperatures will soar to 32 degrees in Mokpo, 33 degrees in Gwangju and Jeonju, and 37 degrees in Pohang during the day.
