Tens of thousands in Beijing watch first flag raising despite heavy smog

Tens of thousands people gathered in Beijing's Tian'anmen Square to witness the first flag raising ceremony of 2017 despite the heavy smog blanketing the city. The ceremony has been carried out every morning since 1949, the year the People's Republic of China was founded.
