India defeated England at Mumbai clinching the test series 3-0. At the start of the fifth and final day's play, India needed four more wickets to win. But India's strike bowler Ravichandran Ashwin removed the well set Jonny Bairstow to push visitors towards the wall. Indian skipper Virat Kohli was crowned the man of the match for his double 100.
