#TheTraditionOfTheElders #BeLovingRatherThanRight #LoveNeighbor #CommandmentOfLove TOPIC: ARE YOU A STICKLER FOR RULES OR A STICKER OF LOVE? First Reading: Deuteronomy 4:1-2, 6-8 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 15:2-3, 3-4, 4-5 Second Reading: James 1:17-18, 21B-22, 27 Alleluia: James 1:18 Gospel: Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23 In today’s gospel reading, the scribes and Pharisees castigate Jesus and his apostles for not washing their hands before eating as was the custom. As Jews, they were expected to observe the laws and traditions that have been handed down since the time of Moses. We reflect today on our own pre-occupation and obsession with rules and activities of our Church or our renewal community at the expense of relationships. This is the 509th installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
