Tight security in Jerusalem for Friday prayers

(10 Jun 2016) Israel bolstered security at a West Bank checkpoint into Jerusalem on Friday, as hundreds of Palestinians made their way across the border for the first Friday prayers of the holy month of Ramadan. Tensions were high in Jerusalem after Israel imposed travel restrictions on tens of thousands of Palestinians on Thursday in response to a deadly shooting at a popular Tel Aviv tourist spot. The shooting, carried out by two West Bank Palestinians, came amidst a spate of violence which erupted last September. Four people were killed in the attack in Tel Aviv's Sarona district, a popular shopping and restaurant area, late Wednesday.
