Various of minibus with coffin on top driving towards cemetery with mourners marching by hearse and crying STORYLINE: Six Iraqi civilians were killed and another 27 injured when US aircraft fired on homes in Baghdad's eastern district of Sadr City early Tuesday, according to police. Two children were among those killed in the airstrike. The police spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to release information. There was no US comment on the attack. Sadr City is a sprawling impoverished Shiite district of the capital and a principal stronghold of the Mahdi Army militia of cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. AP Television footage showed damaged houses and burnt out cars with people heading to funeral procession of a victim. The footage also showed wounded people being treated at al-Sadr Hospital. Government troops supported by the US military have been fighting to gain control of the district of 2.5 (m) million people for nearly three weeks.
