Cheshire firefighters battle through the night fighting fire in house and flats

Updated: firefighters remain at the scene #Cheshire At around 1.40pm today, Wednesday 22 March, emergency services were called to reports of a large fire at an address on Abbotts Way, #Winsford. Police and fire service personnel attended the scene and on arrival found the property was well alight. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said in a statement “Firefighters are currently at the scene of fire involving a house and two flats in Winsford that has spread to nearby properties. Four fire engines are currently at the scene and crews are using a hose reel and a main jet to extinguish the fire.” In a atatement a Cheshire Police have said “Firefighters are working hard to tackle the fire and a number of roads in the area are closed, these include Abbotts Way, Nixon Drive and Ashton Avenue. “Four people have been injured as a result of the incident, their injuries are not believed to be life threatening” By 16.00 it was confirmed that all persons have been accounted for as crews started using ground monitors, set up a water bowser and pump to get a supply of water to the aerial ladder platform to dampen the fire from above.
