OVERVIEW for Dario Argento's debut film and his first of many gialli. This is also the first film in Argento's thematic Animal Trilogy. "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage" (1970). Despite giallo cinema getting off to a slow start in the 1960s, this film would be the first one to break through and to be a hit with audiences. After its success, filmmakers would be jumping on the giallo bandwagon for the next several years. For this reason, plus more, I consider this to be the first true giallo film. I also think "The Girl Who Knew Too Much" (1963) and "Blood and Black Lace" (1964) could be said to be the first giallo films in their own right as well. Might be confusing, but multiple things can be true simultaneously. This is how the evolution of art genres can be. / @thekingingiallo Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheKingInGiallo #gialli #giallo #mariobava #italiancinema #rome #filmnoir #genre #1960s #alfredhitchcock #argento #cinema #cinemahistory #thriller #whodunit #whodunnit #darioargento #hitchcock #historyofcinema #filmanalysis #filmreview #filmreviews #filmreviewer #review #reviews #1970s #mondadori #italian #italia #thrillermovies #thrillerfiction #detectivefiction #detective #1963 #evileye #movie #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewchannel #giallitally #thekingingiallo #1964 #1965 #psychologicalthriller #blackandwhite #filmnoir #truecrime #truecrimeitalia #120days #1968 #auteur #1969 #lenzi #carrollbaker #style #stylish #sexygiallo #klauskinski #freda #doubleface #krimi #lucio #darioargento #dario #enniomorricone #enniomorriconemusic #ennio #morricone
