Dashcam Catches Man Steal Ambulance With Patient & Paramedic Inside

On October 24, 2025, Novi Police and EMS crews responded to a crash near 10 Mile and Novi Road. While paramedics were treating an injured patient inside the ambulance, the situation took a dangerous turn. A 33-year-old man suddenly jumped into the driver’s seat of the ambulance and sped away, with both the paramedic and patient still inside. What should’ve been a routine medical response instantly became a high-risk police pursuit. Dashcam video shows the stolen ambulance weaving through traffic before crashing into another vehicle. Moments later, the ambulance caught fire, forcing officers to pull the paramedic and patient out to safety. The suspect resisted arrest but was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He now faces multiple felony charges, including carjacking, fleeing and eluding, unlawful imprisonment, and endangering the lives of EMS personnel. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
