Korean Peninsula tension: trilateral anti-missile drills to be held near Hawaii

South Korea, Japan and the United States are scheduled to hold their first anti-missile drills in waters near Hawaii on June 28. News agency AFP quoted an unnamed Seoul official as saying the US will launch an airplane as a mock missile, which all three countries will track from ships equipped with the Aegis anti-missile system. A South Korean defense ministry official said the drill was proposed at a trilateral military meeting held after the DPRK's long-range rocket launch in February.
