(19 Nov 2014) The Iraqi Kurdish health ministry reported at least 22 people were wounded in Wednesday's suicide bomb explosion in the northern Kurdish city of Irbil. Many of the injured were rushed for treatment to the West Irbil Emergency Hospital. At least four people were killed in the attack, according to initial reports in local Kurdish media. The blast in Irbil, capital of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq, took place near the city's historic citadel. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the midday attack in the capital of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region, though authorities suspected the Islamic State group.
