अळीवाचे लाडू | Aliv laddu | Halim ke ladoo From Swapna's Cookbook Aliv ladoo is one of the best recipe made in winter. It is an traditional, authentic Maharashtrian recipe.It is specially given to breastfeeding mothers .This can be good option for kids tiffin too. Adding jaggery makes it healthier. Let's see how to prepare this delicious and healthy recipe . Ingredients: 1 Cup Aliv or Halim 1 cup Coconut water 3 cups Grated fresh Coconut 11/2 cups Jaggery chopped dry fruits 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg powder Method: In a bowl spread layer of 1 1/2 Cup grated fresh Coconut. spread layer of 1/2 Cup Aliv. Add 1/2 Cup coconut water and half jaggery. Repeat the layers. Cover a lid and keep aside for 2 hours so that Aliv will soak the conut water well. Coconut water gives nice flavour to ladoos. If you have less Coconut water you can use regular water too. Remove lid and combine everything well. Now heat up a pan on medium heat. cook the mixture on medium heat until the it leaves the sides of the pan. cooking will take about 15 to 20 minutes, The mixture will come together. Turn off the gas. keep aside to cool. Once the mixture get cool add chopped dry fruits and nut meg powder in it. Mix well. Now roll the ladoos. You can coat the ladoos with desiccated Coconut but it is totally optional. These ladoo will remain good at room temperature for about 4-5 days and 15 to 20 days in freeze . Tips: You can use coconut water that we get while grating coconut or you can use tender coconut water. Never use readymade nut meg powder from market as it has lost the flavour.
