Watlington Station Level Crossing

Wednesday August 9 2023 at 15.48. The 15.42 Kings Lynn to Kings Cross (17.32) train. Came here exactly 10 years ago when the train's electric motors changed gear as it went past:    • Watlington Station Level Crossing   Many of you will know, that where possible, the railway likes to have a platform each side of its level crossings, like at Mitcham for instance. That means that barriers can be up when trains are stopped in the station and delays to car drivers are kept to a minimum. This happened here in the 1990's when one of the platforms was closed and replaced with a new one on the left. Unfortunately it was done the wrong way round so now this may be the only station where barriers have to be down while trains in both directions are stopped in the station.
