Karimi and Agnes are a committee of the Bidii Mothers Self Help Group which consists of 15 members who empower and support each other. The employment rate in the area is low making the members earn a living through casual jobs e.g hired farm helps. Women in the area came together and started a Chama with table banking so as to get swift access to loans. They make a monthly contribution of 300/= and above based on one's capability. Patana a government initiative donated 15 goats to the group and the gains - 1 goat produces 1-litre milk per day. This assists as a source of additional income, contributing 200/= a week per homestead. However, this is not sufficient considering the basic needs of the families. Safaricom through the #NdotoZetu initiative fulfilled their dream by providing the community with 11 Toggenburg dairy goats, 1 Billy Goat, 2 pregnant goats, 7 female goats known to produce 3 - 5 litres daily which will, in turn, generate an increased estimate income of KSh. 400- 500 per week equating to over Ksh.300,000 annually dependent on supply and demand. #NawKilaWakati bit.ly/NdotoZetu
