DAYTON-- Police investigate a gas station shooting in Dayton. Police got the call to the UDF in the 1900 block of East Siebenthaler Avenue just before 3:30 Friday morning. Police tell us a man was shot twice, once in the calf and again on the inner thigh. The shooter is still on the run this morning. Police say four gunshots were fired in the parking lot area out of the UDF. Police tell us a group of women got into a fight in the parking lot. During the fight one woman was knocked onto the ground. A man saw the woman on the ground and tried to help her. Police say as he was carrying her to his car that is when the bullets began flying. According to police, the man was shot in the calf and a bullet grazed him on his thigh. When police got to the UDF everyone had ran off. Police came to the UDF after the victim showed up at Grandview Hospital around 3:30 Friday morning. Police say the fight between the group of women originally started at a bar in Harrison Township. Police say they do not know if the victim knows the women involved. Police say at this point they do not have any witnesses and they say its important that someone comes forward with information. Police say the man was lucky the bullets did not hit him in a vital spot. The victim told police he did not see the shooter. He is expected to survive. Please tell us there are cameras in the area where the pumps are, so it is possible the fights and shooting are caught on camera. Police are now waiting for the manager to get to the store to review surveillance video.
