China calls for ceasefire in Sudan at UN Security Council

#kechhotline China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Zhang Jun called for a ceasefire between warring parties in Sudan to avoid escalation of violence amid the ongoing armed conflict, while speaking to the UN Security Council. He highlighted that Sudan is an important country in the Horn of Africa. As such, if the current conflict drags on and escalates, there will undoubtedly be a higher spillover risk, which is not in the interests of Sudan and will harm regional peace and security.
