Magnavox Astro Sonic Micromatic Console Hi-Fi - FINALLY WORKING

I've been futzing with this console on and off for the last three years or so. I've always liked the warm full sound it had, and always wished the record changer worked. Well, the story is much simpler than I thought it would be. All it needed was a good cleaning and an adjustment. I found the service manual and got the right lubricants and cleaners, and disassembled it taking photos, and then reassembled it. Exploded diagrams in the service manual also helped quite a bit. It works pretty well! This is the best sounding setup I have for playing my old swingin' 78s that were rescued from a dumpster outside the abandoned water-damaged studios of WRCO in Wisconsin. I'd like to listen to a stack of 78s now while I work on something else, but I can't! I'm just can't hold still with that swing filling the room!
