Just a random clip I pulled from my Hard Mode run of Castlevania Chronicles, realizing I pulled this fight off with no damage. Commentary to come. The trick is to use up all your subweapon hearts before making it to the boss, and it turns out that prevents him from using subweapons, as well! Then there's a matter of the route and speed. You want to keep an eye on him while jumping up and around to the top of each platform in a bit of a figure eight motion. If you whip while jumping off, then keep running to the other end of the screen, he'll do the same and just miss you. That is your chance to counterattack. You can repeat the process over and over until he's done. If you move too fast, he'll catch up, which might seem counterintuitive, but it works. You want to get him to whip and miss. Rinse and repeat.
