Des Browne attended the meeting at the presidential palace in Kabul. Meanwhile in southern Afghanistan on Sunday a suicide bomber struck a Canadian military convoy killing a boy, while a US-led coalition soldier was killed in an operation in the west, officials said. Also in the west, 10 Taliban and two policemen were killed in a clash. Insurgents have been targeting Afghan, U.S. and other foreign troops in their attempts to weaken the government of President Hamid Karzai. More than 1,200 people - mostly militants - have died in insurgency-related violence so far this year, according to an AP count.
