Classic TV Themes: Making the Grade / The Bronx Zoo (Stereo)

'Making the Grade' (1982) was one of Gary David Golberg's earliest projects as showrunner (Executive Producer). A high school sitcom with first tv roles for George Wendt and Philip Charles MacKenzie, it only lasted six episodes. The theme was an adaptation of 'Heading Home' by Tom Scott. Goldberg wasn't ready to give up on the concept. In 1987 he revamped it as 'The Bronx Zoo', an hour-long drama starring Ed Asner (who had turned a comedy into a drama with 'Lou Grant').
