On Friday, it was announced by the Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul that in the recently published 2021 Global Health Security Index, Thailand has acquired the position of No. 5 out of the 195 countries of the world. John Hopkins Centre for Health Security at John Hopkins University and Nuclear Threat Initiative has compiled the index based on the capacity of each nation to respond to both pandemics and epidemics. The index is newly compiled and constructed every two years.
