South Korea, the United States and Japan are set to hold high-level talks on North Korea in Seoul today (Tuesday). Seoul's Foreign Ministry officials said Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-Nam will sit with his U.S. and Japanese counterparts Tony Blinken and Akitaka Saiki later today to discuss the implementation of U.N. sanctions as well as the three allies' unilateral sanctions on the North. The three senior diplomats are also expected to discuss each nations' response to North Korea's long-range rocket launch in February as well as a potential fifth nuclear test. A similar trilateral meeting was held three months ago in Tokyo after the communist North's fourth nuclear test. Lim is also to hold separate bilateral meetings with Blinken and Saiki. Blinken is scheduled to meet with South Korea's National Security Adviser Cho Tae-Yong to discuss North Korea on Wednesday, according to Seoul ministry officials.
