First Pike session of the 2019/20 season, Vlog no 1

First Pike fishing session of the new season, a blank hahaha The river Erne was definitely moving today the river was rising all day I had one dropped run and found out that I need to go fishing tackle shopping for a load of bits and pieces. I also had some friends to fish with me the cattle I can tolerate rude humans who deliberately fish on top of where your fishing I cannot. Still into the next session. The Rods for bait fishing I use are BB350 12’ 3.5lb tc & D-3 13’ 4lb tc these are made by Dave Lumb of DLST http://www.dlst.co.uk/index.html Mr Lumb is a artist when it comes to building fishing rods if you’re in the market for a rod built to your own desires then Dave is your man. Reels I tend to stick with Shimano Reels as I trust them, I use a few different models of Shimano Reel for Pike fishing from Big Pits to Bait Runners. I get my bait oils, AFW Bleeding Leader Wire and terminal tackle from Eddie Turner https://www.eddieturner.co.uk/ Eddies Oil is simply the best there’s nothing that comes close to it in my humble opinion. He’s also a great font of knowledge and published author I have lost count of the times I’ve annoyed him for ideas on rigs and how best to fish certain locations. It’s my local shop it’s the sort of place I can go in and ask if they will order two different types of chair which they did I then picked one and bough it, not only was this not a bother to them they even matched the cheapest internet price for the chair I chose, David and the guys in FTB frequently bend over backwards to go that extra mile to help folk out.
