loudlabs.com HOMELAND - Per Cal Fire Riverside County Fire Battalion Chief Bill Lawe, Cal Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire received reports of a structure fire in the Homeland area, first unit en route to the incident reported working fire from the station, once on-scene reported heavy smoke and fire from a double wide mobile home, Riverside County Fire Department dispatched five engines and a ladder truck. The fire was contained to the whole home and minor damage to a motor home that sat on the property, the cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries reported to civilians or any firefighter. Chris Alvarez said that he was driving home from Hemet when he saw smoke and flames, when he turned down the street he found the home fully engulfed he was concerned for the neighbor next door and tried to get their attention, he jumped over the fence at the end of the driveway and banged on the door shining his flash light to alert the occupants. Those neighbors were able to safety evacuate and move vehicles out of the driveway in case the fire jumped to their property. Additional information from neighbors, they saw a truck pull up drop off 2 males that went into the property, started the fire and then fled. Cal Fire Investigators are on-scene and have the driver of the truck detained.
