Hurricane Fiona in the Atlantic, tropical wave to watch: Latest tracks, alerts

On the heels of Hurricane Fiona, another tropical wave is poised to enter the Caribbean — and it looks like it is already beginning to organize. Now just a tropical wave, Invest 98-L is producing a broad area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands in the southeastern Caribbean. The disturbance is moving generally to the west at 15-20 mph and is expected to continue in this direction over the next couple of days. Some gradual development of this system is forecast during the next several days as it approaches the Windward Islands into the second half of the week. A tropical depression could form by the latter part of the week as Invest 98-L moves into the eastern Caribbean sea, where conditions look prime for development and strengthening.
