In this edition of Instant Analysis USCFootball.com reporters Chris Trevino and Connor Morrissette are talking about the Trojans Wednesday afternoon practice of mock game week. This practice featured offensive players and assistant coaches for post workout interviews including offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Josh Henson, running backs coach Kiel McDonald, offensive linemen Jonah Monheim and Justin Dedich and wide receivers Dorian Singer and Kyron Hudson. The guys discussed several topics from practice including how things got started with the defense going through a series of stations to start practice, each featuring a different tackling drills. Also on the defensive side there are a few players that are the first members we have seen on the scout team, the group that will try to give the offensive good looks during the season. On the offensive side the right tackle position battle has been heated with Michael Tarquin and Mason Murphy going back and forth according to Henson. At left tackle Henson said that Johan Monheim is really excelling and holding down protecting Caleb Williams' blind side. Freshman wide receiver Zachariah Branch has been very impressive this fall and looks to be poised for a breakout season. They also discuss what the rest of mock game week looks like for the team as the countdown to the season opener against San Jose State continues.
