Semi driver sentenced for causing fatal Columbia Township accident

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A judge sentenced the driver of a tractor trailer who caused a fatal accident on Columbia Parkway to 90 days in jail. Tiffany Davis had pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in May for the accident that left a motorcycle rider dead. Davis was driving east on Columbia Parkway at the base of Mt. Adams when she tried to make an illegal U-turn last August. She did so in the path of a motorcycle rider. Jordan Alexander hit Davis' semi and was killed. Alexander's mother said she had learned since the plea hearing, that witnesses reported that Davis argued with them about what happened, tried to intimidate a witness into changing his statement and ridiculed someone at the scene for praying for Jordan. She said during the plea hearing that Davis didn't shed a tear. "Being incarcerated for 90 days is certainly not a lifetime but maybe its enough time to inconvenience Ms. Davis so she will feel some remorse for what she has done." Davis broke down as she apologized to Alexander's family. She disputed what people at the scene had said about her. "It don't matter what I say, they think I was there and didn't care about her but that is the furthest from the truth. " Davis' attorney had asked for no jail time for his client. Judge Dwayne Mallory disagreed. "On that day, you essentially by making an improper left turn, created a brick wall across the westbound lanes across Columbia Parkway. A person westbound on Columbia Parkway at 45 mph would be traveling at 66 feet per second. That was not enough time for Jordan to correct your mistake." Davis' attorney asked for a week or two for his client to get her affairs in order before serving her time. Judge Mallory replied David didn't give Alexander any time. Davis was immediately taken into custody. She must also pay a $750 fine. Her attorney said she's also lost her CDL license.
