WWL-TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says the colder weather coming in is decreasing the chances that we will see more tropical weather on the Gulf Coast. Wanda transitioned from a subtropical storm to a tropical storm on Monday afternoon. It is now considered fully tropical instead of a hybrid system, because its storms have clustered near the center and it separated from an associated trough of low pressure. Wanda is expected to meander for a couple of days over the ocean before moving north over cooler waters and falling apart.
