Chow chow bath Ingredients ( for Khaira bath ) **************************************** Onion-1 medium sized Tomato- 1 medium sized Green chillies ( according to your taste) Curry leaves- few Cashew 10 to 15 Vangi Bath powder 2 to 3 tbsp Half lemon( optional) Semolina ( local rava or medium sized rava or wheat rava)- here 1 and half cup is taken For tempering: Mustard seeds, black gram , Bengal gram,turmeric powder - each one tsp Preparation: ******************************************* Keep water to boil , ( 2 to 3 times the quantity of rava taken), dry roast the rava( till it turns semi brown) In pan add two table spoon of oil, add mustard, Bengal gram , black gram, cashew, green chilli, curry leaves , turmeric powder . Then add onions, sauté it, add tomatoes chopped.add vangi bath powder mix it well. Add hot water, add salt to taste, slowly add rava, keep stirring, add two tbsp of ghee ( clay butter), cover the lid , keep the flame at sim , let it be like that for 3 to 4 minutes, then it’s ready to serve. Ingredients ( for Kesari bath): ********************************************** Local rava- 3/4 th cup Vermicelli- quarter cup Sugar - 1and half to two cups Pineapple essence- 1/2 tsp Dry fruits Ghee ( clarified butter)-10 to 12 tbsp Food colour you can add Here I have used turmeric powder , quarter tsp. Preparation ( for kesari bath): *********************************************** Add a tsp of ghee , add dry fruits , fry till turns golden brown, Keep it aside. Add vermicelli, when it turn semi brown , add semolina , fry it till , it turns golden brown. Simultaneously in vessel , add keep water for boiling. Add the boiling water to the rava and semolina mix , keep stirring( you can add a pinch of food colour) , here I have added turmeric powder, when both rava and vermicelli are completely cooked , add sugar , then add ghee ( clarified butter), when it comes to needed consistency, add pineapple essence, cover the lid and keep flame at sim for 3 to 4 mins, then add dry fruits, it’s ready to serve.
