Dozens of fighter jets and helicopters attacked terrorist targets of Hamas throughout the Gaza Strip. Israel Defence Forces informed that the Air Force has dropped about 6,000 bombs against Hamas targets. Israel Air Force dropped 6,000 bombs and targeted 3,600 hideouts of the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza. This included the Hamas’ command and control targets, weapons production sites, intelligence assets, and many more. Sharing the information on X, Israeli Air Force said that they would continue to attack forcefully and relentlessly. Drone footage showed wide-scale destruction in al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza on October 12. Residents could be seen searching through the rubble of flattened buildings, while the grey smoke rose in the background. Some 535 residential buildings had been destroyed leaving around 250,000 homeless, Hamas officials said. Most of the displaced were in UN-designated shelters, others huddling in shattered streets. Israel has put Gaza under "total siege" to stop food and fuel reaching the enclave of 2.3 million people.
