1st pack - Insta360 BetaFPV SMO4K on iFlight Chimera 4 F7 Beast FPV
So I finally got an Insta360 x BetaFPV SMO4K onto a quad. I am used to flying this quad and its fairly easy to fix so I modified a Diatone SMO4K mounting and put the Insta360 on. This is the first time I have flown a quad with an action camera attached. I am still undecided about the camera. Flowstate stabilisation certainly helps the videos look better, but I feel the video has a lot of noise. I will need to experiment more with editing. Expect a side by side with my Runcam 4K at some point which it is clearly better than, but I dont feel it is up to GoPro levels. I had the ND filter on, I put the video through Insta360 Studio and applied flowstate and FPV view. In Premiere I used -3 on soften and Lumetri color grading preset "Kodak SL Clean C" as well as shrinking the video with the bars to make it look a bit more cinematic, which may or may not have been a good idea. In terms of flying I still have a long way to go, but I have finally made it into acro mode pretty much all the time now. This day turned started with me discovering great control in a recent 2.5" Xing 1303 build I did, then crashing it to the point I lost parts and need a new frame and camera for it., which was disappointing* update - fixed it with spare chimera4 parts! Later on I also lost the RX power wire on the Chimera4 used to film this. It fail-safed and landed on the roof of a barn. I did do better flights than this one towards the end of the hour but the Insta360 seems to corrupt the video if you do not hit stop, or crash and disconnect the battery - so no 4k footage from those I am afraid. Luckily no major damage and already fixed.
