Handspun Shawl Design – Handspun from Spin Jones (coloured ply) in the Crocus Urchins set (Batt Bits) and John Arbon Textiles (While ply) – a mix of Merino Silk in one ply and 100% Polworth in the other – Own design that I am writing up to be published soon … used 4mm needles (US6) 2. Fisherman’s Rib Headbands – own designs for an upcoming class idea – Fingering weight yarn held double and I used Oh Loops Stellina base in the Amalthea colourway and Malabrigo Sock in the Anniversario colourway 3. Yorkville Hat – 3.5 & 4.5mm (US4 & 7) – Green Mountain Spinnery in the Brickhouse colourway on the Mewesic DK Base 4. Darned Socks – My dad managed to get a hole in the top of one of his socks so I darned it! ____________________ WIPS 1. Layla Pinwheel Scrap Blanket – 4mm (US6) – using the Pinwheel Scrap Blanket pattern and either DK/Worsted or fingering held double and cast on 20sts to make this blanket for Layla – Finished 0 blocks 2. Vanilla Gift Socks – 2.25mm (US1) – Using West Yorkshire Spinners sock yarn – Birds range in the Mallard Colourway 3. Vanilla Gift Socks – 2.25 (US1) – Using Tiny Human Knits sock yarn – in the Folklore Colourway and accompanying minis 4. Perry’s Gansey – 3.5 & 3.75mm (US4&5) finally cast this on after figuring out all of the maths! – using Lolodidit’s Guernsey Sport in the Rumplestiltskin colourway ____________________ Spinning 1. Muddle Rainbow Mini Set – Spin Jones – Mix of Manx Loughton, Merino & Tussah Silk Tops – Two sets of 6x20gm bits of Top – SFD – 2ply, 254gm – 588yd/537m – Sport/DK weight 2. Autumnal Top – Mix of Fibres from Spin City UK (includes some Banana Fibre) – 2 plyed – 97gm – 210yd/192m – Sport/Fingering weight 3. Hawkshaw Sheep – 100% Black Shetland Roving – 56gm – 103yd / 94m – DK/Worsted – poofed up so much after a bath – Chain Plyed – Started as a SFD and spun really fine but this was quite cumbersome and difficult to maintain so switched to long draw which was much easier to spin and smoother but resulted in a thicker singles and ultimately a thicker yarn overall 4.
