As you heard,... search and rescue divers will try to break into the vessel to retrieve the bodies they spotted earlier this morning... now... the rescuers are racing against the clock with the possibility of rougher weather conditions to come during the afternoon. Our joins us live from the harbor.... what's the latest over there? Hi guys. About an hour ago, there was a lot of commotion here. Families of the victims seemed to have found out that the ferry has turned over completely and that the windows are facing downwards,... making the rescue situation extremely bad down here. This is of course, not confirmed. I will bring you more updates as I find out more about it here. As Connie just mentioned, rescue operation is under way to get those three bodies out of from the cabin on the fourth floor of the vessel. It seems the divers have gone down and tried to break into the windows but have failed and they are continuing their efforts as we speak. Now, coast guard officials say they are going to throw a wire net around the vicinity of the site of accident so that no dead bodies drift away on strong currents. Not counting the three dead bodies that have been spotted in the vessel,.. The official death toll right now is at 29. The latest was a body of a female victim potentially in her 60s to 70s found right before the clock struck midnight. Li-an, how have the rescue operations throughout the night? Were the rescue teams able to get much deeper into the vessel? Rescue operations continued though the night... with mId-sized aircraft flown to the site of accident to fire flare bombs in a battle against nature to light up the pitch black sky. Divers still tried to get into the third floor of the ferry where most of the students are believed to be in, but still were not able to. There were conflicting reports last night as to whether the rescue team was able to reach the cabins in the third floor-- just to clarify the situation down here, they did reach the entrance to the third floor deck but were not able to get inside at all. Navy divers have also attached three lift bags to the vessel yesterday to prevent it from sinking further, and twenty three more lift bags are to be installed. There's also been an oil spill from the ferry,.. there is an oil band of about 1 kilometer in diameter around the site of the accident now. The coast guard now has to work on both containing the oil spill and continuing the search and rescue operation. Guys. Thanks for the report... that was our Yoo Li-an reporting from Paengmok Harbor... the focal point of the search and rescue operations.
