HUBER HEIGHTS -- Huber Heights Police are charging several people with assault or felonious assault in connection with a stabbing in a park with kids just feet away.Officers say a fight broke out inside the pavilion on the Campfire USA grounds, where an after school program was going on in a nearby building.I was shocked, completely shocked, stuff like this doesn't happen at Campfire, said Jackie Moore, concerned parent.Moore drops her kids off at the grounds every day.Campfire is a great program. I send my kids here, she said, I'd feel safe sending any kids here.Campfire USA holds different family oriented events throughout the year.We bring our kids here every summer for free lunch, they have a shelter, we play on the playground, she said, The kids love it and it's just a great program.We spoke to the director of the program, she tells us in the two years that she's worked there, nothing like this has ever happened.Even Huber Heights Police were shocked to see what happened.It's usually pretty quiet here, said Sgt. Tony Ashley, Huber Heights Police Department, We believe that we have everyone who was involved in the fight.The problem is just feet away from the bloody crime scene is a park where kids and families play everyday.But for Moore, who's brought her kids here for years, this violent attack doesn't make a difference.Campfire is a safe place, she said, The doors are locked, you have to buzz to get in. So I'd feel safe sending my kids here, any day, any time.One person who was stabbed was treated and released from the hospital. The other two received more serious injuries, and remain hospitalized.Earlier coverage:HUBER HEIGHTS -- Huber Heights police are investigating a multiple stabbing at the Campfire USA facility.It happened late Tuesday afternoon on Powell Road. Police say several juveniles and young adults were hanging out in a pavilion, when a fight broke out. During the altercation, someone pulled out a knife and three people ended up wounded. Officers tell us at least two of the victims suffered serious injuries.Police are still talking to witnesses and plan to release more information later tonight.
