Final Fantasy XV [PS4] Commentary #052, Vesperpool Quests: Valorous Regalia, etc.

Now, before they head to that brave new world, they will work on the available quests in Lucis. Among the quests on their docket are Cindy's "The Ever Valorous Regalia" and Dino's "No Pain, No Gem", both in the area of the Vesperpool. After resuming, the party checks out a quest marker at a bench near the parking lot in Lestallum (time 1:00). Before heading off to Cape Caem, she gives Noctis ten Moogle Plushies. These can be used as decoys to protect the party from damage. The party fast-travels to Meldacio Hunter HQ (time 2:33). There, they find Dave (time 3:27). Dave issues his next sidequest, "Mountains of Misfortune". This task is to find a dog tag near Steyliff Grove in the Vesperpool. They also find Sania (time 4:18). Sania issues her next sidequest, "The Professor's Protégé - Myrlwood Firefly". The party must head to the Myrlwood, an optional dungeon in the Vesperpool area, and look for the elusive Myrlwood Firefly. The Myrlwood is also the destination for Dino's "No Pain, No Gem". To narrow down the quest location for "Mountains of Misfortune", the party talks to the tipster at Meldacio (time 5:16). Afterwards, the party sets out for the Vesperpool (time 5:42). They park at the Vesperpool parking spot (time 7:33). At Capitis Haven, they wait until morning (time 8:37). Then, they make their way north for "Mountains of Misfortune". After the party defeats some enemies, Ignis learns the recipe "Free-Range Fowl over Rice" (time 11:34). But basilisks are supposed to be serpents, not birds. In the north of the area, they find a mineral deposit not far off the driveable dirt road (time 11:55). They acquire Bluestone Crystal and Whitestone Crystal. Near some ruins past a dirt path, they find "Oric's Culinary Chronicle I Entry 6: Moving Out" (time 13:01). Ignis learns the recipe "Paella de Pollo". To the north, near the search location for "Mountains of Misfortune" (time 13:55). There is a Cockatrice in the way. Look out for petrification. In some ruins consisting of three walls just west of the center of the search area, the party finds a Polished Dog Tag (time 14:46). It belongs to Mowdat Esthar, a reference to Final Fantasy VIII's city of Esthar. Next, for "The Ever Valorous Regalia", the party rides to the southern portion of the Vesperpool. Near the Vesperpool - East Bank and the Bert's Bobbers 'n' Stuff fishing shop, the party finds a Jumbo Tusk: Garula lure (time 17:04). To the south, the path goes through a cut-through rock. There, the party finds a Whitestone Crystal (time 19:15). Farther south, the party finds another mineral deposit (time 20:10). They acquire Silver Ore and Prismatic Ore. In the south, after passing under the main highway, the party finds a treasure spot (time 23:44). It yields Assassin's Daggers. During a battle, Noctis uses a summon that randomly becomes available (time 25:49). For doing so the first time, the player earns the trophy "Divine Intervention". Along the southwest side of the Vesperpool, they get close to the search area for "The Ever Valorous Regalia" (time 27:46). However, before they can search, there are a Basilisk, a Cockatrice, and some Chickatrices to take care of. By a rusted-out car near a ruined building, the party finds the Supercharger (time 28:49). Now, they must take this to Cindy. When installed, this will increase the Regalia's top speed from 50 to 60 miles per hour. The party returns to the Regalia (time 31:16). At some point, Ignis becomes willing to drive at night, which is helpful. For now, the party fast-travels back to Meldacio Hunter HQ. They visit Dave to turn in the latest dog tag (time 33:41). "Mountains of Misfortune" complete! The party earns 2,000 EXP apiece and 5 Megalixirs. Dave's next quest starts at Verinas Mart - Ravatogh. Next, the party fast-travels to Hammerhead (time 34:42). At Hammerhead, they report to Cindy (time 35:15). "The Ever Valorous Regalia" complete! The party earns 1,000 EXP apiece. They can now install the Supercharger.
