Black Lives Matter, Activism, and How Change Happens with Damon Centola

Damon Centola is a sociologist who studies how change spreads through social networks. He began by studying the civil rights movement and the social and political uprisings that led to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Today his work ranges across several fields – from public health to organizational innovation to civic activism. For the last few years, he has been immersed in understanding the unexpected transformation of the Black Live Matter movement. In his book, CHANGE, Damon shows how this movement grew from a few isolated protests, into a highly impactful national, and ultimately global, movement against police violence in Black communities.
