A delegation of 21 MPs from the opposition INDIA reached Manipur on Saturday to assess the ground situation in the strife-torn state. The MPs reached Imphal by a commercial flight from Delhi after which they went to Churachandpur, to meet victims from the Kuki community in the relief camps there. As per officials, two teams of MPs will visit Churachandpur and the third team will visit relief camps in Imphal East and Imphal West districts. The team, comprising Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and others, reached Churachandpur first and visit a relief camp set up at the Boys’ Hostel of Churachandpur College. Here the MPs interacted with those taking shelter at the relief camps and the local leaders. Meanwhile, another team, comprising Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi and others, visited a relief camp at Don Bosco School in Churachandpur. The third team of MPs went to the Ideal Girl’s College relief camp at Akampat in the Imphal East district and will visit another camp at Lamboikhongangkhong in the Imphal West district later in the day.
