Following the two-day visit to Manipur to assess the situation in the strife-torn state, the MPs of the opposition alliance INDIA briefed leaders on Monday. The MPs met at the Parliament House and highlighted the ground realities before the alliance members. A delegation of 21 opposition MPs reached Manipur on July 29 and visited several relief camps in Imphal East, Imphal West and Churachandpur districts and met people affected by the violence. The opposition leaders also met Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on July 30. Speaking to the media on Sunday Assam MP Gaurav Gogoi said that the Prime Minister should form an all-party team and visit Manipur. The opposition has been demanding a discussion on the Manipur violence in both Houses and a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament.
