Korea′s referral to ICC A UN General Assembly resolution drafted by the European Union and Japan to refer North Korea to the International Criminal Court for crime against humanity has been approved by a UN committee. That resolution calls on the Security Council to recommend Pyongyang to the ICC. This after the UN committee voted down a Cuban proposal... that would have essentially eliminated the leadership′s accountability for the regime′s rights abuses. North Korea has long been criticized for its human rights abuses,... holding hundreds of thousands of people in political prison camps. We′ll have more details in our later newscasts. Title: N. Looking to forge at least one friendly relationship on the international stage, Choe Ryong-hae ,... the special envoy for North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has been holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. The Kremlin says Choe gave Putin a personal letter from Kim, but did not elaborate on what the two talked about. Pundits assume they discussed ways to strengthen their countries′ bilateral ties. The North Korean envoy, who is on an eight day trip to Russia, is scheduled to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Thursday. Kumgang tours The chairwoman of South Korea′s Hyundai Group made a one day trip to North Korea on Tuesday.... where she attended an event commemorating the 16th anniversary of the inter-Korean tourism project... operated by her company. The tours to Mount Kumkang haven′t been held since 2008 but Hyun Jeong-eun told reporters upon her return that Hyundai Asan would do everything it could to resume the joint venture.
