Introduction - What has the scholarly community stated about the Jehovah's Witnesses during the Nazi period? How has the visits to various holocaust museums and Auchwitz affected us at the Watchtower History Channel? How did the JWs stand out from all of the others during this period? How did the JWs stand firm against the Nazis, and sometimes even with joy? Why were the Jehovah's Witnesses targeted so soon after the Nazis came to power? Our first discussion and stop on our path to Rutherford's Roadmap is a look at how the Jehovah's Witnesses Stood Firm against the Nazis. As historians we need to be fair in looking at a historical event or topic from more than one perspective, both good and bad. There are several examples not only in Watchtower publications but also in scholarly literature of the Jehovah's Witness resistance to Nazi oppression. After Hitler came to power, how quickly did he target the JWs? How did the JWs endure such severe persecution? What can we learn about those who wore the purple triangle? Tomorrow, on September 18th, 2022, PBS will start a new documentary series about The U.S. and the Holocaust by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick & Sarah Botstein. https://www.pbs.org/kenburns/us-and-t...
