Inspired by a friend who said my last post sounded like a combination of Attenborough observing an ashtangi in his natural environment and a commentary on the cricket 😂. Definitely turn up the volume on this one... On a more serious note: Janu Sirsasana C 1 To do the 'full' version of this posture requires a lot of ankle mobility - dorsiflexion in particular, and hip rotation. Ideally the ankle/heel will be directly above the toes (vertically) and the knee on the floor slightly in front of the foot. Most people will be someone in between that ideal and barely being able to lift their heel to the inner thigh. This posture takes patience and lots of practice and is not one to rush. 2 For those with knee pain modify the pose by not bending the knee too far, or do Janu A again. 3 Placing a block under the hip can help to get a feel for what the posture could one day feel like. 4 As always, there are movements that are keys to unlocking other postures later down the line - the Advanced A posture Viranchyasana is an extension of Janu C. Thanks for reading and listening... back to the regular programming tomorrow as we move into the Marichyasana series.
