1998-WFAN Mike and the Mad Dog. Day After Chuck Knoblauch ALCS Gaffe

There was probably no more dominant team in baseball ever in the last half century than the 1998 Yankees. But the one moment where it seemed like they were in jeopardy of blowing their inevitable march to a 125 win season and World Championship came after they blew Game 2 of the ALCS to the Cleveland Indians thanks to a gaffe by Chuck Knoblauch who ignored the fact that a ball was in play while he argued with an umpire, allowing the go-ahead run to score. This is the opening hour and a half of the Mike and the Mad Dog show on WFAN radio the next day. The Yankees would drop Game 3 of the ALCS and fall behind 2-1 in the series, but then would right themselves and roll off three straight wins for the pennant followed by a four game sweep of the Padres cementing their golden 125 win season (114 regular season, 11 postseason) as perhaps the greatest ever in baseball history by an individual team. Unfortunately this is the last of the Francesa-Russo shows for this postseason I have. Hopefully there are others out there waiting to be discovered!
