Interactive Entertainment. It is a direct sequel to Batman Arkham City and former final installment to the Arkham Series. The console versions of the game received generally favorable reviews and was considered to be a "satisfying conclusion" to the Arkham franchise while the PC version received criticism for performance issues. Set nine months after the events of Batman: Arkham City, the sprawling City of Gotham has enjoyed a dramatic decrease in crime since Joker's death. Though the general public praises the drop in crime to Batman's efforts, some begin to question the integrity of their caped crusader, wondering if he broke his cardinal rule in killing the Joker and whether the Bat is still good for Gotham. Meanwhile, Batman struggles to come to terms with the death of his arch nemesis and the deeply hidden fear that he is not fully cured of the Joker toxin in his bloodstream. In the absence of Joker, many of the other supervillains begin working to fill the void left behind by the clown prince of crime. Scarecrow, a villain not seen since Arkham Asylum, begins forming a plan to unravel the legacy of the Batman while a new mysterious military villain emerges with the singular purpose of seeing the Batman die. Sensing a new threat brewing along with an inevitable end to Batman, Bruce Wayne develops more vicious technologies and trains & fights in a manner of brutality that Alfred can only describe as someone who's running out of time...
