Easy Filipino Dessert Recipe! | Food for the Gods

We're currently in lockdown in Auckland and what better way to fill our self-imposed bi-weekly release schedule than with our first cooking video! Today we're making Food for the Gods, a popular Filipino dessert, especially during the Christmas season! It's a moreish, sinful, and easy-to-make dessert of dates and walnuts that is just seriously addicting! Enjoy! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RECIPE: Ingredients 200g melted butter 200g (1C) white sugar 150g (1/2C) brown sugar 1tsp vanilla ½ tsp salt 2 eggs + egg yolk 200g flour 1/2tsp baking soda 1/2tsp baking powder 300g (2C) chopped walnuts 150g (1C) chopped dates Pre-heat oven to 180*C | Grease & line a 9 x 13 inch pan 1. Melt butter, add sugars, salt, eggs, dates, and walnuts. 2. Mix flour with baking soda and baking powder, add to date mixture 3. Spread into a baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. 4.
